Phase detection of crystalline materials by of X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD)
University of Tartu, Faculty of Science and Technology (old), Institute of Ecology and Earth Sciences, Tartu University, Department of Geology
Service description
A method well suited to identify crystalline phases in studied samples e.g. to quantify the relative phase abundances in building materials for instance. Is also a standard tool for process and quality control in building material industry, metallurgy etc.
Qualitative characterisation af samples is non-destructive, however, to quantify the relative phase abundances a powder sample must be prepared. Instrument Bruker D8 Advanced, with Lynx Eye detector. Also possible to use Anton Paar high temperature sample stage for in situ investigations of phase transitions, solid state/gas reactions or structure determination.
